Hi, my name is Mike Matloff. I have a bachelor's degree in
Computer and Information Science from the
University of Oregon, from which I graduated with high honors. (An unofficial copy of
my academic transcript (in MS Word format) is available for download here). More importantly, though, is the fact that I am a victim of government experimentation and abuse. If this scares you, or makes you not want to read my website, then so be it. However, I refuse to be ashamed of or hide what others do to me against my will and for no justifiable reason whatsoever. Please see my Activism page for more info.

June 10, 2012: If you haven't checked out my Podcasts, you should do so. I've really started
moving from written blog entries to podcasts, because (1) I can be more expressive in a podcast, and (2) I can include more information in a
podcast because I can speak faster than I can write.

June 20, 2011: Finally completed my "magnum opus," a one-stop, comprehensive guide on how to keep your computer safe from viruses and other bad stuff while using the Internet. Ever since I started fixing people's computers professionally--especially when I worked at Staples--I've been wanting something I could give to people to help them know how to stay safe on the Internet and avoid viruses and the like. I think this first version of the document is pretty decent and would be a great thing to just give to anyone purchasing a new computer (who is new to computers). The guide is written for newbies but contains research and links that may be useful to all. Get it here: How to Stay Safe on the Bleeping Internet.
June 11, 2011: Thanks to the extreme dedication of my good friend Fradley Garner, International Editor in Denmark for Jersey Jazz and jazz aficionado extraordinaire, the memoir of jazz baron Timme Rosenkrantz is going to be published this year! Check out the website for the book at JazzBaron.com!

February 22, 2011: You may have heard about the big commotion over Christina Aguilera's rendition of the "Star Spangled Banner" at Super Bowl XLV. I've written a sort of essay-poem about that hullabaloo, and more generally about America's symbols, here: America is Not a Flag.

February 6, 2011: I don't really have the space in Twitter to express my (always controversial) views regarding certain topics. Here then, is my controversial opinion, for those who are interested, on the situation in Egypt and what lies at the core of a democracy.

October 30, 2010: Added a section on Programming Advice.
